I run a boutique website development firm, Mandala Designs, with a focus on making the world a better place. We help publishing companies manage, market, and sell their products online. After years of custom e-commerce development, we are embarking on an integration with Apache OFBIZ which we are very excited about. We will be including a number of powerful features such as: gift certificates, digital product sales, integration with Ingram, and a wholesale ordering portal to name a few. We have developed a web-based course evaluation system for academic institutions which is currently in production for Marylhurst University, as well as a variety of custom applications for managing and streamlining academic advising processes. In addition to custom software we help organizations build websites to promote their businesses. We have experience with ColdFusion, Drupal and WordPress.
I’m a particular fan of WordPress because it is so easy to use and can do so much. Lately I’ve been doing consulting around how to make money with WordPress sites, which is pretty exciting. When it’s time to go live, we provide hosting that is customized to meet the needs of the project. We started hosting back in 1995 when there were few options and have continued to upgrade our networks as demand increased. We have deep experience hosting most LAMP applications in addition to ColdFusion, Java, Angel Learning LMS, Alfresco, Moodle, and Mahara.
If you are interested in what Mandala Designs might be able to do for your business, send me an e-mail and we can talk.
Since launching Mandala Designs I’ve learned a tremendous amount about web development personally doing everything from project analysis, to design, production, and hosting. Lately, though, I’ve been finding specialists to help take an ever increasing role so that we can deliver more, faster, and at a higher quality. If you are an expert designer, java developer, WordPress developer, e-mail me your resume and cover letter. We are always looking to expand our network of contractors.
When I’m not working you will find me spending time with my wonderful wife, Dr. Anne Jacobs, son Aiden and daugher Juniper. I try to get to yoga weekly at the Midcoast Yoga Shala with Adele, and there’s an ultimate frisbee game that plays outdoors year-round here. I started a website for the group here: 52pickup.org.
